Minor Notes:

Solid Relief From Judy: As the International League season winds down, the Indians remain on the lookout for possible September call-up Candidates, and Josh Judy is on their list. After starting the season off in extended spring training, Judy only spent a week at AA Akron before being promoted to AAA Columbus in May. Since his time with the Clippers, Judy has posted a 3.05 ERA with 49 strikeouts and only 14 walks in 41 innings pitched. Known to be especially tough on lefties, Judy may have an advantage over his Columbus teammates for a call-up next month.

Aspiring Aero Chen Lee: Right handed relief pitcher Chen Lee is starting to make his way on to the radar in Akron. Besides a short stint on the disabled list due to an oblique strain earlier this month, Lee has been providing the Aeros with 1-2 solid innings of relief pitching in every outing, so solid that he hasn’t given up a run in his last 15 appearances. With a 5-3 record and a 3.47 ERA, Lee has struck out 68 batters and walked only 20 in 62 innings pitched this season. A former Olympian for his native country Taiwan, Lee was signed by the Indians as a free agent in September 2008.

Laffey Continues Rehab In Akron: Indians starting pitcher Aaron Laffey was sent to AA Akron on Saturday to continue his rehab assignment from a shoulder injury. In Sundays game against Harrisburg, Laffey faced three batters, giving up one hit. He is expected to make at least one to two more appearances with the Aeros before rejoining the Tribe. During his assignment at AAA Columbus and Class A Lake County, Laffey pitched 22 1/3 innings with a 4.03 ERA.
