Glass Half Full Tavern

Great Thursday morning to YOU C TOWN…you know I LOVE YA’ BIG CITY…how are YOU FRIEND?  Yes, we need to talk…I know it’s only one game into the 2010-11 NFL season, but the KC Chiefs are making the most of their win over San Diego by noting in their game notes that “The Chiefs currently sit alone atop the AFC West standings for the first time since Week 7 of the 2007 campaign!” When I first read that I thought, “DANG, it’s ONE FREAKIN’ game” but the Chiefs like our beloved Browns have been in very, dire straights for a ONCE PROUD FRANCHISE (OUCH!!) and yes, I would be happy, FREAKIN’ ECSTATIC if the BROWNS were 1 and O AND Cinci/b’more & pitt were 0-1!!!!!

Chiefs Running Back Jamaal Charles

Now, the more I look at the Chiefs – (Super) Chargers I see that YES, SD shot themselves in the foot on numerous occasions BUT BOTTOM LINING THIS – KC Won and they did it in ALL THREE PHASES OF THE GAME…

* OFFENSE – Jamaal Charles had a 56 yard TD run and rookie Tony Moeaki (MOE – EE – AH – KEY) caught a TD!

* DEFENSE – KC  held the Chargers to 4 of 15 on the 3rd down!  That’s 26.7% AND

* SPECIAL TEAMS – not only did rookie THE DEX FACTOR Dexter McCluster (Ol’ Miss) have a TEAM RECORD 94 yard Punt return for a TD (YES, the HUMAN JOYSTICK DANTE HALL played for this team!!) BUT another rookie, nickle back JAVIER ARENAS (Nat’l Champ ‘bama) had 2 punt returns for 36 and 24 yards!

This game is STILL WINNABLE, but STOP THE BIG PLAY!  I did not even mention there are MORE weapons…Bedford’s CHRIS CHAMBERS and 11 year pro RB THOMAS JONES!

PULLEEZE…concerning SENECA WALLACE starting…the most popular guy in C TOWN is usually the back up QB and yes, that person is SENECA so remember that fact BUT I do not want COLT McCOY to be the most popular as I do not want him to play this year!  Hmmm…Brett Ratleff is still staying at a hotel on Bagley Rd…call him?

Enjoy every sandwich!

Adios Amigos!
