Vikings Keep Rolling Along

Cleveland State's Aaron Pogue

The Cleveland State Vikings improve to 14-1 after a dominating 73-55 victory over Loyola. The Vikings Junior forward Aaron Pogue lead all scores and tied a career high in points with 16 and tied a season high in rebounds with 12. “I feel like I can destroy any man one-on-one.” Pogue said. Guard Norris Cole chipped in with a modest 12 points, but his leadership on both ends of the floor was on display all night.

Loyola was in the game for most of the first half, when CSU began to live up to the high level of defensive play that they are accustomed to. When asked if they could get better defensively, “Sometimes we forget our rotations, but when we’re synchronized we can be pretty good.” said coach Waters.

The Vikings seem to have gained the attention of their city with back to back impressive crowds. Their game last week against South Florida drew over 4,700 and there were just as many there to see CSU continue their winning ways. Cleveland State plays UIC Saturday at the Wolstein Center at 2pm.
