Inspiration Comes from Egyptian Hockey

By Rocque

Thanks to Hockey Community for making us aware of this rink. First the video: Egyptian kids playing hockey in the middle of a mall. An obscurely beautiful Diana Ross song chirps “If there’s a cure for this, I don’t want until morning.” The game is stunning, three stick tap face offs and it’s go time. NOTE CLICK TWICE ON VIDEO

Below is the email I sent. Anxious as I wrote it. What do I say to a people who’s world is being torn apart? I hope this works:

Subject: Hello from Hockey Fans in USA

First off, I hope I find you and your friends and family safe. I’m writing you from the USA. Obviously, we have very little real comprehension of what is going on in your country, but I was hoping as part of the hockey fraternity, we can try to get a clear understanding.

If you are able, can you offer some insight into what is going on and what it’s like to be in the middle of it? Also, I’m guessing it’s secondary but can you tell me about hockey in Egypt and how, if any, things have changed during the unrest. Perhaps its still able to bring you some sort of normalcy and peace. Please know that we care over here.

Your friends from Dangeroushockey.com

PS: Matthew Barnaby is, well never mind.
